Buying privately is how you keep the money a dealer would add. It is also how you inherit everything they were being paid to absorb: faults you cannot see, a car with money still owing, nothing to come back with once you have paid.
We got tired of that being the trade. So we do the part a dealership does — the check, a 3, 6 or 12 month warranty if you want it, finance on a private sale — without selling you the car.
We do not earn more if you go ahead. That is the whole point of paying someone who is not selling the car.
